The “Zone” brings together the moving pieces, it’s held together by the metals. These works didn’t come from a dark place but they’re grungy and slightly out of order because that’s what being in the zone can do. When I paint each collection the process starts with a theme, this helps me have a direction. I try to match people or places to my commissioned work, but I'm usually the theme in all my collections. The Zone closed out my year and it’s been a puzzle.
